Does Wayne State University require the flu vaccine?
Wayne State University's flu vaccine requirement will remain in effect for all students, faculty and staff for the fall 2023 semester. For more information see Wayne State’s current vaccine requirements.

How much will the flu shot cost?
We bill your insurance for your flu vaccine, most insurance companies cover the cost of the flu vaccine.

What type of flu vaccine does CHC give?
The flu vaccine offered at CHC is an inactivated vaccine (containing killed virus). For the 2022-2023 flu season, CHC is giving the Quadrivalent Inactivated Influenza Vaccine. This is usually given in the shoulder muscle. This vaccine will help to protect you from the 4 strains of influenza that are predicted to be most prevalent this flu season.

What are the side effects of the flu shot?
Mild effects may include soreness, redness, or mild swelling where the shot was given. Some people experience low-grade fever, body aches and/or nausea.

Can I get my flu shot from my primary care provider (PCP) instead of at CHC?
Yes. Remember to get documentation that includes the date, your name, and the vaccine you received.
