According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 6 in 10 adults in the US have a chronic disease. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported that chronic diseases account for 7 of the 10 leading causes of death in Michigan and are responsible for a great deal of morbidity and disability. This informational webinar will discuss managing chronic diseases in college students during COVID-19. We will explore resources such as healthcare services provided by Wayne State University, counseling services. and coping skills. There will also be a panel discussion at the end where a college student will share the barriers she faced while going to school and managing a chronic condition, as well as other experts in the area.
