Students are responsible for knowing their insurance coverage. If you have an HMO or out-of-network insurance plan, referrals and/or prior authorization from your primary care provider are required. Contact your insurance company for more information.

Students are responsible for any co-pays and deductibles and any fees related to labs, tests, and procedures that are not covered by their insurance plan.

All Wayne State students get one free illness visit per semester, regardless of insurance coverage. This does not include any additional labs, tests, procedures, or medications. Additional office visits for uninsured patients require a $35 minimum payment on the date of service. Reduced fees are available; inquire at the front desk.

Note: We are the primary care provider for international students enrolled in the WSU-sponsored health plan. For students who also have their spouse or children on their health plan, the Campus Health Center will also provide care for your spouse and children. Dependent children must be at least eighteen months old.
