Shortage of Yellow Fever Vaccines

The CDC has reported that the manufacturer of the yellow fever vaccine, YF-Vax, Sanofi Pasteur, has announced a shortage of YF-Vax that will begin in mid-2017 and last until mid-2018. However, for the next few months, you may be able to find a clinic that still has a supply of YF-Vax. The Campus Health Center does not currently have Yellow Fever vaccine due to this shortage. You may try to contact other clinics in Michigan.

If you cannot find YF-Vax at a nearby clinic, you can search for a clinic providing an alternative yellow fever vaccine. Because of a shortage of YF-Vax until mid-2018, the manufacturer (Sanofi Pasteur) has worked with the CDC to make an alternative yellow fever vaccine, Stamaril, available at select locations until YF-Vax supply returns in mid-2018. See more information about Stamaril.

There are only a few clinics in Michigan authorized to provide the alternative vaccine, Stamaril, and those can be found here.
