We would like to welcome your child, and you, to Wayne State University! The Campus Health Center is here to help your child stay healthy and be successful while your student studies at WSU.
As a parent, we know that you will have a lot of questions and concerns about your child’s access to healthcare. As such, here are a few important things you should know:
Health and Safety Checklist
Prepare your student for the unexpected! Send him/her to campus with a health and safety kit.
We strongly recommend that your child have their insurance card, or a photocopy of the front and back of their insurance card, when they come to the Campus Health Center for the first time.
If your student uses prescription medication, please make sure they have the original bottle and discuss with them about how to refill their prescription. There are a number of pharmacies within a mile of the clinic, and we are happy to assist students in locating places they can fill their prescriptions.
For Students 18 and Under
If your child is under 18, you will need to provide us with consent to treat them. To do this, the parent or guardian must complete the enrollment form and sign/date all three signature lines.
Now that you have a checklist and all of this important information, your student will be ready to access any needed healthcare that can arise when away from home. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
